Information for building contractors

Building Industry Contractors wishing to work on Queensland Government building projects (see note below) and government agencies employing contractors on building projects should read the information in this section.

The section provides a general overview of the whole-of-Government Prequalification (PQC) System, including application forms, guidelines on the tendering and selection process, information on reporting requirements associated with contractor performance, and frequently asked questions and answers.

A list of projects on the current building capital works program can be found in the Online Project Search, and the Industry Guide for government building projects based on published budget papers.

Use of the PQC System is mandated by the Capital Works Management Framework which is the overarching government policy.

Further information on the PQC System is available from the PQC Registrar.

Note: A National Prequalification System (NPS) commenced on 1 January 2011 and applies to non-residential building contracts where the construction cost is $50 million and over. Building industry contractors wishing to tender for such projects will need to be prequalified under the NPS.
